What is a Director of Technology PMO?
Reporting to the Manager of Technology Strategy & Governance, the Director of Technology PMO (Project Management Office) provides leadership abilities, strategy, and oversight for Central Hudson's Technology project management and organizational change initiatives. The Director will lead the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of project management & organizational change management (OCM) methodologies, processes, tools, and standards to drive the prosperous execution of technology projects within the organization. The Director of Technology PMO will collaborate with senior leadership abilities, department heads, and project managers to drive high-quality project delivery, efficiency, and alignment of projects with business goals.  The Director of Technology PMO provides leadership abilities to direct and indirect reports and a mix of full time and contract resources.  this job offer requires PMO/project management skills, SDLC skills, OCM proficiency, building inter-departmental trust-located partnerships, delivering concise executive-level communication, and skillfully managing work prioritization.



What does a Director of Technology PMO do?
The Director of Technology PMO is responsible for the following:



»Provide leadership abilities to the PMO team and foster a culture of collaboration, excellence, and continuous improvement.

»Define the Technology PMO's strategic objectives, KPIs, and portfolio roadmap, in alignment with the organization's strategic plan.

»Develop and implement project management and OCM methodologies, standards, tools, templates, and best practices to ensure consistent, high-quality project deliveries.

»Collaborate with senior leadership abilities to execute the Technology strategic portfolio and ensure project alignment with business priorities.

» supervise the identification, allocation, forecasting, and utilization of project resources, including project managers, analysts, testers, and support staff, to ensure effective project execution.

»Facilitate regular portfolio status reviews and generate regular reports for senior leadership abilities, highlighting project status, risks, issues, and recommendations for corrective actions.

»Develop strong relationships with cross-functional teams and executives to ensure project alignment and buy-in.

»Implement and engage in risk and issue management to identify, assess, and appropriately remediate.

» supervise technology organizational change management (OCM), fostering a culture of continuous improvement.

»Analyze project plans for improvement opportunities and adherence to phase gate standards to ensure projects are being executed in alignment with Project Management framework and standards of excellence.

»Analyze and review vendor SOWs, RFPs, and project change requests to ensure quality and accountcapability.

»Prepare and present accurate capital and expense forecasts for active projects, ensuring alignment with overall portfolio forecasts for the department.

»Proactively anticipate project staffing needs and secure appropriate resources needed to execute projects effectively.

»Represent PMO on Technology Change Advisory Board (CAB), significant corporate committees, and Sox controls.





What does it take to be a Director of Technology PMO?

Required:

»Bachelor’s degree in a discipline significant to project management, information systems, or business management.

»Minimum 10 years of practice in enterprise software project management and 3 years’ practice in a leadership abilities function. Equivalent of education and practice may be considered.

» practice leading the development of project management tools and KPIs.

»Strong expertise and practice working with SDLC or other software development framework.

»Deep practice with project estimation, capital and expense forecasting, earned value, and resource utilization; practice creating and managing project or portfolio budgets.

» practiced user of Microsoft Project and Microsoft Office tools (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and Visio).

» practice leading organizational change through the delivery of people, process, and/or technology improvement initiatives.

»Exceptional oral / written communication skills and executive-level presentation skills.

»A results-oriented mindset with the capability to deal with problems and make decisions with sound judgement.

» capability to teach and mentor others and build a team culture of collaboration, excellence, and continuous improvement.

»Valid driver’s license.



Preferred:

»Certification or degree in Project Management (e.g., PMP).

»Prior practice building or managing a Project Management Office (PMO).

» practice or certification in an Organizational Change Management (OCM) framework such as PROSCI.

»Prior practice with enterprise software implementations (SAP, Workday, Oracle, etc.).

» practice using or implementing Project and Portfolio Management (PPM) tools.

» practice in Energy & Utilities or services industry
