Jr. Legal Assistant Litigation or Transactional Practice (Hybrid)

A growing mid-sized law firm is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Legal Assistant to support attorneys in either litigation or transactional practice areas. This position is ideal for a junior-level legal professional looking to continue developing their legal career in a collaborative and fast-paced environment. The role offers a hybrid work schedule with both in-office and remote work flexibility.

Responsibilities

Litigation Support

  • Prepare, revise, and file legal documents in state and federal courts
  • Maintain case calendars, track deadlines, and assist with docket management
  • Organize case files, discovery materials, and correspondence
  • Assist attorneys with trial preparation, hearings, mediations, and depositions
  • Communicate professionally with clients, court personnel, and opposing counsel
  • Support billing, time entry, and other administrative functions

Transactional Support

  • Draft, proofread, and format contracts and corporate documents
  • Assist with closing checklists, signature collection, and transaction binders
  • Organize due diligence materials and maintain electronic files
  • Support entity formations and corporate filings
  • Coordinate communications with clients and third parties regarding documentation and timelines
  • Assist with scheduling, billing, and administrative support

Qualifications

  • 1–2 years of experience working in a law firm as a legal assistant, legal secretary, or similar legal support role
  • Exposure to litigation and/or transactional legal work preferred
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and legal document management systems
  • Familiarity with e-filing systems is a plus
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to manage multiple assignments and meet deadlines
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Professionalism and strong client-service skills
