Purpose of Position

This is a part-time non-benefited position. Only UND students are eligible to be hired in this Research Assistant (Water Treatment & Biomaterials) position.

Support ongoing research in water treatment and process engineering. Responsibilities include assisting with membrane operations and fouling studies for water purification preparing water-salt samples and feed solutions and processing bioreactor samples. The role also involves transferring samples between facilities and the laboratory contributing to biomaterials-related projects and assisting with updates and maintenance of the research groups website. Candidates should be detail-oriented reliable and comfortable working in a laboratory environment.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Participate in water treatment and process engineering research
• Assist with membrane operations and fouling studies for water purification
• Prepare watersalt samples and feedstock solutions
• Process and handle bioreactor samples
• Transfer samples between facilities and laboratory
• Support biomaterials-related research projects
• Assist in updating and maintaining the research groups website

Minimum Requirements

• Proficiency in essential laboratory skills such as reagent preparation equipment calibration sampling preferred.
• Students who have completed introductory courses in chemistry biology or chemical engineering with grades of B or better.
• Skills in updating webpages preferred.
• Successful completion of a Criminal History Background Check
