This position supports a cloud modernization initiative focused on developing and deploying a secure, scalable, cloud-native application within the AWS GovCloud environment. The selected candidate will play a critical role in integrating development, security, and operations practices to support mission-critical systems in a highly regulated federal environment.
We are seeking a DevSecOps Engineer with strong experience in AWS cloud infrastructure, secure DevOps pipelines, and compliance-driven environments. This role is ideal for engineers who are passionate about automation, cloud security, and building resilient systems while working in Agile, cross-functional teams.
You will be responsible for designing and implementing secure cloud environments, integrating security into the CI/CD pipeline, and driving continuous improvement across development and operations processes.
Candidates should bring hands-on experience in:
Designing and implementing cloud-native infrastructure within AWS environments, including GovCloud
Developing and managing Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using tools such as Terraform
Building and maintaining secure CI/CD pipelines with integrated security controls
Supporting multi-environment deployments (development, testing, staging, production)
Implementing monitoring, logging, and alerting solutions for cloud-based systems
Applying cloud security best practices across the development lifecycle
Supporting application deployment, performance optimization, and operational sustainment
Collaborating within Agile teams to deliver secure and scalable solutions
Troubleshooting infrastructure and application issues in production environments
Experience with AWS GovCloud environments
Familiarity with federal compliance frameworks such as FedRAMP, FISMA, and NIST 800.53
Experience with containerization technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes (EKS, ECS)
Knowledge of identity and access management (IAM) and secure authentication mechanisms
Experience with scripting and automation (Python, Bash)
Exposure to logging and monitoring tools such as AWS CloudWatch or Splunk
Experience with security tools, vulnerability management, and risk mitigation strategies
Familiarity with XACTA 360 or similar compliance tracking tools
Experience supporting disaster recovery and business continuity planning
Strong experience with the following technologies is expected:
AWS (GovCloud preferred; EC2, S3, ECS, Lambda, CloudWatch, CloudTrail)
Terraform (Infrastructure as Code)
CI/CD tools (GitLab or similar)
Docker and Kubernetes (EKS, ECS, Fargate)
Python and/or Bash scripting
Version control systems (Git)
Monitoring and logging tools (CloudWatch, Splunk)
Identity and Access Management (IAM)
Candidates should be able to clearly demonstrate:
Experience designing and securing cloud-native architectures in AWS environments
Ability to integrate security into CI/CD pipelines and DevOps workflows
Strong understanding of cloud security principles and compliance requirements
Experience managing multiple deployment environments and ensuring system reliability
Ability to collaborate across development, security, and operations teams
Proactive approach to identifying risks and implementing mitigation strategies
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related technical discipline is required.
Minimum of 5–6 years of relevant experience in DevOps, cloud engineering, or DevSecOps roles.
