Job Description

Pay Rate- Up to $68/ hr comb in ed (taxable hourly + tax-free allowances for travel, hous in g, meals). Rates may vary and are subject to change.  

 

The NICU Registered Nurse provides specialized nurs in g care to critically ill or premature newborns  in the Neonatal  In t e nsive Care Unit. This role  is responsible for monitor in g, assess in g, and support in g the health and development of neonates requ ir in g advanced medical attention, while provid in g compassionate support to families dur in g  a highly sensitive time.  

 

Key Responsibilities:  

  • Provide d ir ect patient care to premature and critically ill newborns  in accordance with established nurs in g standards and protocols.  

  • Monitor vital signs, adm in ister medications, and  operate specialized medical equipment such as ventilators and  in cubators.  

  • Collaborate with neonatologists, resp ir atory therapists, and other members of the healthcare team to deliver comprehensive care.  

  • Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate  in dividualized care plans for each  in fant.  

  • Document all care activities, assessments, and changes  in condition accurately  in the electronic medical record (EMR).  

  • Educate and support parents and families  on newborn care, feed in g, and discharge  in structions.  

  • Ma in t a in a safe and sterile env ir onment to prevent  in fection and ensure  optimal patient outcomes.  

  • Respond promptly to emergency situations and perform life-sav in g  in t e r ventions as  requ ir ed .  

  • Participate  in ongo in g education, skills tra in in g, and performance improvement  in itiatives with in the unit.  

 

Qualifications:  

  • Education: G rad uate of an accredited school of nurs in g (BSN preferred).  

  • Licensure: Current Registered Nurse (RN) license  in State.  

  • Certifications: BLS and NRP  requ ir ed ; ACLS and PALS preferred.  

  • Experience: M in imum of one year of experience  in   a Level II or Level III NICU preferred.  

  • Skills: Strong critical th in k in g, communication, and family-centered care skills.  

 

Work Env ir onment:  

  • Fast-paced, high-acuity cl in ical sett in g.  

  • Requ ir es flexibility with shifts,  in clud in g nights, weekends, and holidays.  

 

  • Exposure to neonatal medical equipment, alarms, and procedures.
