The Infusion Suite Nurse is a licensed healthcare professional that provides specialized care and counseling for patients who require intravenous treatments. Responsibilities of the Infusion Suite Nurse include administering high tech infusion care to patients, directly monitoring those patients receiving IV infusions, checking infusions to ensure that medications implemented are not counteracting each other or causing a patient harm, collaborating with the physicians regarding patient care, and managing and scheduling infusion therapy for patients.
The Infusion Suite Nurse must possess strong communication skills with the ability to impart knowledge to patients/caregivers regarding their infused therapy and diagnosis in a manner tailored to their education and/or anxiety levels. When called upon, the Infusion Suite Nurse will utilize assessment and patient/nurse education skills assisting the Clinical Nurse Manager by completing Patient Assessments and/or agency nurse/patient education.
